Post Excision Instructions (Buried Sutures)

You may shower over the clear plastic dressing tomorrow morning.  Remove the bandage in 3-4 days or sooner if you are noticing any redness or irritation.  Leave the underlying steri strip in place.  When it falls off, that is okay, no other bandage is needed. 

If you encounter any bleeding after the procedure then remove the bandage, hold some gentle pressure over the site for several minutes and replace a fresh gauze.  Leave in place until the following day.  If bleeding does not stop, call the office.

The local anesthetic will last for a few hours.  If you have pain at the site take Tylenol, Advil or Aleve.
